Solidarity 2020
Poster Series, 2020
March 2020: Covid-19 has brought the world to a halt. Apart from system-relevant workforces, the whole of Germany migrates to the home office and half of the creative industry goes on short-time work. Overcrowded hospitals. Empty supermarkets. Lockdown. Somewhere between quarantine and depression, the decision to counteract lethargy. But how can designers show solidarity?
The result is Solidarity 2020, a pandemic poster series. The partly rhetorical statements are playfully embedded in everyday situations and reflect the repetitive life we have been confronted with on a daily basis for the past year. Somewhere between hope and despair.
The series received a lot of positive feedback via social media and became part of the book Designers Against Coronavirus. All proceeds from the project initiated by CaroselloLab went to the Italian Red Cross.
